toot

Oliver thinks Tooting is fun! He always smiles and giggles after he farts, and proclaims proudly "Ollie tooted".
The problem is that he says this all the time about mom and me, even when we don't "toot".
He likes to say " mommy tooted" "daddy tooted" "Ollie tooted" because it's fun!
I can't wait until we are out in public and he proclaims, " Mommy tooted"! As long as it's mommy and not daddy, we're cool.

Carnival!

Kirsten, Oliver and I went to the Farmington carnival wednesday night. We ate hotdogs, got to put out fake fires with a real fire house, henna tattoos, ice cream cones, snow cones, dance demonstations, live music and beautiful weather.

Then when we got home we had a little celebration! I got a Best Buy gift card and Oliver got a microphone and karaoke CD and a puzzle that makes animal noises when you put the pieces in!

WE loved them. Thank you Karen and Karl. We finished the evening with Ollie in bed, watching LOST!, and eating yummy WW keylime pie! YUM!

Speaking of the puzzles, sometimes I get mad at myself for getting frustrated with Oliver because he can't put the puzzle pieces in right. I'm like, come on kid, how hard can it be? Match the picture on the piece with the exact picture on the puzzle. Then put it back in the same way.. I don't understand the whole trying to put the piece in sidways thing.. the picture/shape doesn't match so why try? And you took it out, so you obviously know how it works! ARGH!

And then I realize he's TWO, and learning everything for the first time, and best yet, he keeps trying different things when he can't figure it out! Patience, Perserverance, troubleshooting, creativity.. He's learning all these things when he places the Tiger sideways on the Lion.

So what the hell do I have to be upset about anyways!? I guess I have something to learn from him.. Besides, It's a Liger, it's pretty much my favorite animal.

Pooh!

Oliver and I went to our First Movie together! Winnie the Pooh. It was a wonderful story, fun, well animated, and gave you warm fuzzies. That was my take.

Olivers take: wow previews are really cool and I love sitting in this chair. Movies starting, i'm hungry like pooh, I think I'll have goldfish crackers, fruit snacks, 2 cups of mandarin oranges, a box of raisins, lots of water, Oh this is fun, I love the way the seats go up and down, Look daddy, I can touch the people that sat in front of us (that'll teach them), It's fun walking down this aisle, Funny Tigger!, I'll throw my nahnie on the floor and then pick up and then suck on it, then throw it down the chairs in front and make a fuss so daddy has to crawl around and go get it, I'm still hungry, Oh look we are moving up a row! this is great! I love movies! Muwahahaha

Me: maybe we'll go again when Pooh 14 comes out.
Whew!

ganpa ganma

Oliver went to grandma and grandpa's house in Mankato on Sunday. He had lots of fun playing with new toys, running around outside with a ball, and best of all Swinging and Spinning in his own swing.

big kid

I've rarely blogged, but I'm going to start doing this fairly regularly with random and, beware, sometime offensive comments.

Oliver is growing so fast. He's starting to talk now which is pretty great if you can understand what he's saying. I was away for 4 days and he just seems like such a little man.

stats: 2yrs old, 34" tall and 30lbs.

I find that I'm a little jealous of him. When he grows up, he'll have so many things to view from his childhood. Movies, Pictures, albums etc.. almost daily too.

My generation had 1 polaroid a year maybe 2 or 3, no movies unless you were rich, and really nothing to look back and appreciate.

I really hope technology doesn't overwhelm him because the constant access to everything all the time is starting to make me a little crazy. I feel like I can't just unplug and rest my mind.

The 3 of us got to listen to the new babies heartbeat yesterday. very awesome for 16 weeks. :)

1st Christmas

Oliver had a great time at Christmas. He got a cool play cube, some toys to hold, and a really cool bouncer. He's been really active of late and it is neat to see how he has changed.

We have the mom's side of the family Christmas celebration on new years day so he's looking forward to more cool stuff.

ugh

So I was hoping to have the baby on friday as all the MD's pointed to, but it was not to be. It's all good though as I was able to have a delightful weekend with my wife and friends.
Tommorow night ripening, wednesday morning induction! Have I gotten enough sleep?
